Dunedin Hospital neonatal intensive care unit medical director Dr Roland Broadbent (left) chats to Countdown representatives Robert Moffat, of Auckland, and Pam Cookson, of Dunedin, after the department received a $134,521 donation yesterday from the Countdown Kids Hospital Appeal.

The event was attended by Countdown staff members (below).

The money will be used to buy equipment for the new co-located NICU and children's ward.

The appeal also raised $72,926 for Southland Hospital.
