The thirst for a big festival in Dunedin has been quenched at last.

About 12,000 people attended the Dunedin Craft Beer and Food Festival at Forsyth Barr Stadium across two days, ending on Saturday.

It was the first since 2020 and Covid-19 did not get in the way of festivities this time.

Festival director Jason Schroeder said there was a general feeling people were happy to be out and able to enjoy a large event.

About 85 food and beverage vendors were there.

"It went really well," Mr Schroeder said.

"It was a very successful year."

The festival was established in 2013.
