Psychologist Nigel Latta watches hydrogen bubbles ignite in his hands during his New Zealand International Science Festival presentation "Why Science is Cool'' at Otago Museum in Dunedin yesterday.

Festival director Chris Green said both presentations by the Auckland-based clinical psychologist sold out yesterday.

About 200 people attended each presentation.

"He talked about why science is cool and he talked about different concepts - about gravity, about fire, about how science makes you go ‘crikey','' Mr Green said.
