Students are being offered the chance to rectify their Orientation Week "blow out" during Healthy Lifestyles Week next week.
The Otago University Students Association event will run from March 30 to April 3 and focus on showing students how they can lead healthy, active lives.
The stressful study environment of university often took a toll on health and the week was a chance to get students thinking about what they were eating, events manager Jen Stokes said.
"Straight after Orientation is a good time to hit them and get them thinking about health."
On Tuesday, a cooking demonstration would show students how to eat well on a budget, "rather than beans on toast", she said.
Other free events included bike tune-ups, yoga, a hip-hop dance class, a tramp to Signal Hill, and food and drink giveaways.
"It's a really nice, positive thing to organise for students."
