As Orientation swung into the main entertainment events yesterday, deputy proctor Andrew Ferguson, speaking before last night's toga parade, hoped students would enjoy themselves, but not overdo it.

He was taking a realistic approach to student revelry, but warned them not to embarrass themselves too early on in their university studies.

He also wanted students to be safe and encouraged anyone concerned about their safety to call Campus Watch staff.

They patrolled the campus area 24 hours a day and were available for advice and support.

They also ran a safety patrol car which delivered students home if required.

Students were encouraged to contact the team if they noticed anyone suspicious hanging around the campus, as open doors and windows were easy targets for criminals.

Campus Watch can be contacted on 479-5000.
