Two carjackings in Sydney's south

A woman has been thrown to the ground in an attempted car jacking, while two teenagers had their car stolen in a separate incident in Sydney's south.

In the first incident about 8.15pm (AEST) on Saturday, an 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman parked their vehicle in a car park on Fishermans Road at Malabar and walked a short distance away, police said.

About 10 minutes later, they were approached by five men who ordered them to lie on the ground, then stole items from their pockets, including the keys to their Subaru.

The five men then left the scene, taking the couple's car.

They teenagers were not injured.

The men are described as being either of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander or Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance and aged in their late 20s.

It's believed the men were travelling in two cars, described as a white Toyota Aurion and a silver Holden Commodore.

In the other incident, police say a 39-year-old woman parked a Mercedes sedan in a garage on Carlton Parade at Carlton about 11.20pm on Saturday and was approached by two men who grabbed her and threw her to the ground as she got out of the vehicle.

The woman screamed for help and the men left.

She sustained minor injuries to her face, arm, neck and shoulders, but did not seek medical treatment.

Police want to speak to two men who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

They are both described as being of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance, 20-30 years of age, and of medium build and wearing dark clothing with jeans.

Police are urging anyone with information about either incident to come forward.
