Was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand in June, and is now travelling in France.

Lives in Canberra and is a registered surveyor, working for Vekta Pty Ltd. In 2008, her final year of rowing, she won two medals at the national championships and represented New Zealand Universities at the world university championships in Belgrade.

John Cosgrove (24)
Has his own physiotherapy company on Auckland's North Shore. Cosgrove has worked with the New Zealand women's sevens team in Hong Kong and a team of surf life-savers circumnavigating New Zealand in inflatable rescue boats. He won the 20 to 23-year age-group of the Auckland Harbour crossing open water swimming race last year.

Works for the Tasmanian Parks and Wildlife Service as a hunter, eradicating pests on Macquarie Island.

James Liley (23)
Is studying toward a bachelor of medicine and bachelor of surgery at the University of Otago's Christchurch campus, with a bachelor of medical science (hons) pending. He also works part-time as a casual player (French horn) for the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.

Michelle Willyams (24)
Works as an executive assistant in an Invercargill business. Formerly in the New Zealand Secondary Schools Choir, she has since sung in operatics.

She has written histories of the Brighton Surf Life Saving Club and Dunstan High School, and a Dunedin City Council scholarship enabled her to attend the Aspiring Leadership Forum at Parliament last year.

Kathryn Roy (25)
Teaches biology and science at Bethlehem College in Tauranga, where she also helps manage the school choir. While she was studying music, her composition Foreigner in Africa was played by the Southern Sinfonia at the Last Night of the Proms.

Anthony Hutchison (25)
Recently spent two years working as an English teacher at high schools in Naruto, Japan. While there, he climbed Mt Fuji and ran the 2012 Tokyo Marathon. He now lives in Auckland.

Is an associate consultant at AbacusBio Ltd, a consulting company in agricultural technology, in Dunedin.

She was the New Zealand under-20 women's 200m champion two years in a row and continues to compete in track and field.

Cameron McPhail (25)
Is studying towards a PhD in classics at the University of Otago, where he also tutors. With supervisor Robert Hannah, he co-authored a paper published in a journal of ancient geography and cartography, Orbis Terrarum, and he has had two other papers accepted for publication.

Kavanagh College
Nadya Shaw Bennett (25)
Is about to embark on a masters in theatre studies at the University of Otago. She works in the theatre studies department as a tutor and a research assistant, and has performed in documentary theatre funded by the university. This year the professional actor has appeared in The Motor Camp for the Fortune Theatre, in Sex, Death, Magic during the Fringe, in The Grand Duke for the Really Authentic Gilbert and Sullivan Performance Trust and in the Keep Dunedin Beautiful touring show. She studies singing privately and has played principal roles in the last four Gilbert and Sullivan operas in Dunedin. She also teaches Interact drama classes.

Qualifications: Bachelor of arts (first-class hons) in theatre studies.

Is a physiotherapist working in a private practice clinic in Sydney. She played for Southern Pride in the national softball league in the 2008-09 and 2009-10 tournaments.

Is a lawyer at Wellington law firm Russell McVeagh, in the corporate advisory and litigation groups. He was school dux, received a Russell McVeagh university scholarship and gained a snowboarding instructor's qualification while working in Canada.

Suzannah (Suzie) Bates (25)
Is a dual cricket and basketball international. She captains the White Ferns. She hit an undefeated 183 for Otago in a State League match and holds the record for the highest score by a New Zealander in women's ODI matches (168 off 105 balls against Pakistan in 2009). Bates is playing in the Australian women's league with the Western Fury this season and will return to Dunedin in a few weeks to play for the Otago Sparks over summer. In February, the White Ferns will compete in the 50-over World Cup in India. She played in the semi-professional Australian Basketball League in 2007 and competed with the Tall Ferns at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Rosa Scott (24)
Teaches English and art at Kobe International Preparatory School in Japan. Earlier this year she travelled to New York and Europe studying paintings on a fine arts travel scholarship from the University of Canterbury. A painter herself, she has had her first solo show and had work in several group exhibitions, including one at the Christchurch Art Gallery which featured the work of eight emerging artists from around the country. Has run five marathons and been an office-bearer with the University of Canterbury Athletics Club and the Christchurch International Marathon Trust Board.

Qualifications: Bachelor of fine arts (first-class hons).

 

Naomi White (25)
Is studying towards a PhD in psychology at the University of Cambridge, looking at how sibling relationships change over early childhood and how those changes influence children's wellbeing at the end of primary school. She was awarded a Rutherford Foundation PhD scholarship as well as a University of Otago Prestige Scholarship in science in 2008 and a Freemasons University Scholarship in 2009.

Qualifications: Bachelor of science (hons) in psychology. Licentiate of Trinity College London, in flute performance.

 

St Kevin's College
Fabia Fox (24)
Is finishing her masters in history at the University of Otago, with a dissertation on crime in 19th-century Dunedin. She spent 18 months as recreation co-ordinator for the university's recreation services.

Qualifications: Bachelor of arts (hons), majoring in history.

 

Kohan McNab (25)
Is studying through the Institute of Professional Legal Studies in order to be admitted as a barrister and solicitor, and will start work with Deloitte's Auckland-based management consulting team early next year. He recently spent two months doing volunteer work in public schools and orphanages in Nepal. Last year he was president of the University of Canterbury Students' Association and one of the leaders of the Student Volunteer Army that led the initial clean-up after the Canterbury earthquakes. He was awarded life membership of the students' association and is official patron of the volunteer army. He received the inaugural University of Canterbury community engagement gold award and the New Zealand Lions benefactor award for community service and was the New Zealand Herald on Sunday's community hero for 2011.

Hannah Blair (24)
Teaches year 4 to year 6 pupils at Fairton Primary School near Ashburton and has won two New Zealand javelin titles.

Works for ANZ International and Institutional, as an analyst in the syndications and agency team in Auckland. He also studied on exchange at the Manchester Business School.

Daniel Dodds (25)
Is a builder and foreman for A.J. Saville Ltd in Arrowtown. After the 2009 earthquake and tsunami in the South Pacific, he spent two weeks rebuilding homes in Samoa. He plays premier rugby for Arrowtown and has represented Otago Country for several years, playing at flanker and lock.

Qualifications: National certificate in carpentry.

 

Rosie Given (25)
Is a resource management planner at the Gore District Council and vice-president of public relations for the Gore Toastmasters Club.

Qualifications: Bachelor of environmental management, majoring in policy and planning.

Michael Carruthers (25)
Is sales and marketing analyst at TrustPower Ltd in Mt Maunganui, has twice completed the Speight's Coast to Coast and taken lead roles in Tauranga Musical Theatre productions.

Qualifications: Bachelor of applied science (first-class hons), majoring in energy management.

 

Adam Hall (25)
Is an adaptive skier who has twice represented New Zealand at the Winter Paralympic Games, winning gold in the standing men's slalom in Canada in 2010. Earlier this year he won four races on the World Cup circuit, regaining his No. 1 status in slalom and being ranked in the top three in the world in both super G and super combined. He has been named New Zealand's top snow sports athlete four times, won the award for best adaptive athlete and received a New Zealand Order of Merit for services to sport. Hall is now training for the 2014 Paralympics, which will be held in Sochi, Russia, and studying towards a diploma in agribusiness management.

Rebecca Burgess (25)

Is studying towards a bachelor of teaching and learning at the University of Canterbury and working part-time for the recreation and sport unit of the Christchurch City Council. She represented Canterbury in korfball in 2007-2008.

Lives in Melbourne, where she is a claims officer for QBE Insurance.

Craig Scott (24)
Is design services co-ordinator at Otago Museum. Last year, he was part of the museum delegation which travelled to Shanghai for the installation and opening of Te Ao Maori: Maori treasures from the Otago Museum, the first exhibition of Maori artefacts from New Zealand to be displayed at a museum in China. In 2008, he published and co-designed Tales from Kowhai Drive, a book about life in a student flat.

Qualifications: Bachelor of design (graduating top of his class, with distinction) in communication.

Mitchell (Mitch) McRae (25)
Lives in Balclutha, where he is the sports activator for schools in the South-West Otago region. He finished 21st in the men's 25-29 age group at the world triathlon championship in Auckland on Labour Day. He is also a former member of the Otago Nuggets basketball team.

Qualifications: Bachelor of physical education.

 

Kerry Robb (24)
Played professional rugby in Krasnyarsk, Russia, and recently gained his 50th cap for Lincoln Country. He works as a trade sales rep for Resene Paints in Christchurch.

Qualifications: Bachelor of commerce, majoring in valuation and property management.

Moved to London in April on a two-year working visa. She initially worked at Selfridges and is now travelling and looking for work in museum collections. She began a postgraduate diploma in museum studies last year but has put this on hold until she returns to New Zealand.

Anton Jackson-Smith (22)
Is doing a double degree in law and molecular biotechnology (bachelor of laws and bachelor of applied sciences), with a minor in economics, at the University of Otago. After high school, he spent two years living in Italy and Vietnam. This summer, he will do an internship at Wellington law firm Russell McVeagh.

Is travelling in the UK after working as a registered nurse in the children's blood and cancer service at Starship Hospital, and at a summer camp in Michigan.
