A year after Fleurs Place closed, the owner says it is not on the market and she is looking at ways to get the doors open.

The restaurant, on the shores of the Moeraki harbour, has been closed since December 3 last year as Covid-19 wreaked havoc on the hospitality industry.

Owner Fleur Sullivan said this week she was working on some things and wanted to do the best she could for Moeraki.

She wanted to find the very best option for Moeraki but was not in a hurry to reopen.

The lawns were being mowed and the gardens kept around the restaurant.

Every time she was at the restaurant she was approached by people for a chat or a photo, which she said was nice.

Ms Sullivan revived Oliver’s in Clyde and then moved to Moeraki and opened Fleurs Place in 2002.

It would have been its 20-year anniversary this year but no celebrations took place.

The restaurant earned rave reviews and people came from far and wide.

She still received emails from all over the world from people who had dined at the restaurant and wanted to talk about it and ask when it was opening again.

Ms Sullivan is keeping busy, having just come back from working on a boat in Fiordland.
