iD Dunedin Fashion Week committee chairwoman Margo Barton keeps an eye on proceedings at the Dunedin Town Hall, where workers were yesterday installing a new catwalk set to transform iD International Emerging Designers Shows this evening and tomorrow.

Models will walk the octagonal feature shown on the ground floor, then descend to the floor itself for another circuit, before climbing steps beside the stage and circumnavigating the gallery level, where the front seats have been removed.
Dr Barton said the show held in the past at the Dunedin Railway Station had been intimate, with the audience close to the catwalk, while the emerging designers show at the town hall had spectacle.
The new catwalk tried to provide both at the town hall.
Dr Barton was unsure of the runways’ length - the former railway station venue was known for its extremely long runway - but she thought with its various circuits it could match it.
"Maybe I need to get a pedometer tomorrow and walk it out," she said.
