Margarita Robertson

A force in fashion design and retail since the '70s, Margarita Robertson has played a lead role in shaping the New Zealand fashion industry and Dunedin's extraordinary fashion design culture, including the iD Dunedin railway station show. Nom*D's AW 13 collection "Spaced Out'' features the hallmarks of concept, design and construction that are as exciting to those, nationally and globally, who have always followed the Nom*D star as to those who are newly discovering it.
Tanya Carlson
Label: Carlson
Tanya now lives and works in Auckland, but her ties with her home city of Dunedin, where she established the Carlson label and her first retail store, are as strong as ever. She is a longtime member of the iD Dunedin voluntary organising committee and has sent her outfits down the Dunedin Railway Station catwalk from the outset. Her winter collection is signature Carlson, cool tailored elegance deftly balanced with an unexpected sexiness.
Donna Tulloch
Label: Mild Red
Since she established the Mild Red brand in 1995 in Dunedin, Donna has built a client base reaching to Australia, Japan and Europe. Part of iD Dunedin Fashion Week since its inception, she is known for her juxtapositioning of architectural nuances, soft, textured shapes and strong, clean lines that are evident in her winter collection "Bouquet of Barbed Wire''. She also includes accessories such as hand-crafted leather box bags and tote bags and elongated scarves.
Charmaine Reveley

Charmaine has carved a niche in the local fashion scene in the past 10 years. Graduating as a top student at the Otago Polytechnic School of Fashion, she became a full-time resident of the Dunedin Fashion Incubator, establishing her label in 2003. She relocated to a workroom and small retail store in 2005 and now stocks 15 New Zealand stores. Her winter range "Battle Lines Drawn'' tells a cool, grown-up story of elegant femininity, quality and wearability.
Sara Munro
Company of Strangers
From remaking vintage leather jackets into bags in 2008, Sara quickly developed Company of Strangers into a full clothing range in 2009. She last year showed at New Zealand Fashion Week. A graduate of the Otago Polytechnic School of Fashion in 1997 and 2007, Sara worked for Margarita Robertson for six years. Enjoying working collaboratively with artists, her AW13 collection is inspired by the pop art movement. Her latest big step was opening a retail store, Company, in George St, Dunedin.
Marie Strauss
Label: DADA Vintage
Holding a degree in drama, two master's degrees in fine arts, a postgraduate diploma in costume design and an honours degree in ceramics, Marie Strauss launched the Dada Vintage label in 2008 when she opened the Dada boutique in Moray Pl, Dunedin. This year's collection is inspired by form and colour with a mix of fabric, pattern, textile amd fur to strengthen the silhouette. It is all about energy and light-hearted fun, form, theatre and humour and comprises mainly one-off pieces.
Tamsin Cooper
Label: Tamsin Cooper
Tamsin Cooper, who this year celebrates 10 years in business, will debut her ``Anniversary''collection created to celebrate the Royal New Zealand Ballet's 60th anniversary. In a New Zealand first, two of the ballet company's ballerinas will present the collection alongside regular models. The ballerinas, who will introduce an element of dance to the runway, will be dressed in coats and luxury accessories from the collection, which marks an ongoing collaboration between the RNZB and Cooper.
Jane Sutherland

Jane Sutherland is based in Kingston, on Lake Wakatipu's southern shore. With a background in jewellery-making and design, she began combining metal work with T-shirts and from here her clothing label has evolved. The label is sold throughout New Zealand and she recently launched an online store.
Debbie Lawson
Label: Deval
Debbie has worked in the fashion industry for 23 years, establishing the Deval label four years ago. The clothing is designed to accentuate the female form. While edgy, a classic backbone is manifested by the natural fibres of wool, cashmere and silk, plus leather. She operates stores in Christchurch and Dunedin.

Label: Undone
Elise and Rachel, based in Dunedin and both with fashion degree backgrounds come from opposite ends of the design spectrum. Together they merge soft and hard, romantic and bad-ass. Their AW13 ``Mustang Runnin' '', is a romantic glance at the Wild West in which feminine innocence meets the baddest of outlaws.

Label: MisteR
MisteR was launched by Mickey Lin and Ra Thomson in 2006 as a New Zealand-designed and made boutique menswear label. The launch more recently of womenswear, jewellery and accessories has established MisteR as a major player on the New Zealand fashion scene. It is also a collision of cultures. Mickey is originally from Taiwan while Ra is a born and bred Kiwi.

Label: Storm
Deborah Caldwell founded the Storm label in 2005, identifying a gap in the market between trend-driven chainstore brands and high-end designer wear. Her first retail store opened in Auckland in 2006, The Dunedin store, which opened in the Golden Centre last wear, has undergone a complete refit. It is the first store in New Zealand to unveil the new concept.

Label: Moodie Tuesday
Established in 2012 by cousins Jon Thom and Chris Brun, Moodie Tuesday represents a unique vision in which art and fashion collide. Building on the foundation of limited edition T-shirts featuring artist Thom's work, the second collection ``Thinker, Not A Talker''introduces a menswear capsule range for AW13.
