New Zealand show Reservoir Hill has won an Emmy Award.
KHF Media, with Television New Zealand and New Zealand on Air, was awarded the International Digital Emmy Award for the show in Cannes, France, today.
Reservoir was nominated in the Children and Young People category and was up against shows from Hong Kong, Canada, Finland and the United Kingdom, the stuff website reported.
The show was an interactive online drama which screened on TVNZ's OnDemand. It was filmed in and around Porirua, north of Wellington.
Viewers could influence the script through text messages and social networking sites.
Broadcasting Minister Jonathan Coleman congratulated the creators of the show.
"Reservoir producers Thomas Robins and David Stubbs take a bow - they've broken new ground in online content and have produced a world-class show."
He also congratulated TVNZ and NZ on Air for backing the show.
Reservoir's nomination in the International Digital Emmys was a first for a New Zealand show.
The judges said Reservoir Hill showed how to enhance viewers' multi-platform experience.
