The tour began this week up north and Grater said they had been getting good feedback.
She said the tour was the result of some planning and friendships made along life's journey.
"Marianne released her debut album in New Zealand last year and has been wanting to tour here since. Her and Delaney met when they were both touring in the States and Delaney put Marianne in touch with me.
"Delaney and I were already planning a summer tour of New Zealand; we invited Marianne to join us. It's a wonderful trio since we all have similar influences in traditional European music and also alternative country and Americana. But at the same time, we're all presenting those influences in very different ways."
Grater last played locally at Chicks, with The Bads, and is looking forward to playing at the Port Chalmers venue again.
"I will be focusing on some of my newer material that was written on tour in Europe last year and has European themes. On this tour, the three of us will be playing our own sets of original music and then playing some songs together that we have been learning while on tour. So it's really new and really fun and exciting for us."
I referred to Grater above as a Christchurch musician, but she said that was changing.
"I have been busy moving from Christchurch to Auckland over the last couple of months, so that has swallowed up my time and energy. But I've played a few Auckland shows and am loving being on the road again."
Grater has just finished recording her latest album and is pretty pleased with it.
"I'm really in love with the new album and super excited about its release.
"I was able to work with some amazing Auckland-based musicians."
Be there
