‘‘Sorry it's been so long between drinks for Dunedin, but yeah, come out to Refuel, it'll be a blast,'' he says.
Munro says last time the band was here they played at Refuel with one of Dunedin's more noteworthy punk bands.
‘‘We haven't played Dunedin since late 2006. 2007 was a busy time with writing and recording our new album so no dice there. But, yeah, the last show was with Ritalin and it ruled. It was at Refuel - where else?'' he said.
He says the band's been in a touring drought as they have been slaves to the studio.
‘‘We haven't toured since mid-last year, and that was just Australia and some North Island shows. [We've been] too busy with the album stuff, kinda crazy considering we basically lived on the road between 2003-2007.''
However he says the band's blood, sweat and tears are not going unrewarded with steady sales and positive media attention with the album. ‘‘[It's getting] a lot of critical acclaim from the press . . . the reviews have been outstanding. Now it's time to get it going live.''
Munro says the Bleeders' show remains pretty much the same: fast and furious. Though he puts it a bit more eloquently. ‘‘It hasn't really changed, but every time we play we just give 110%. I guess the new material is a change back to the more raw side of what we do so the show is definitely more balls to the wall.
‘‘We always love to play live so we give it everything we got.''
He says the Bleeders are planning to play further away from home.
‘‘This year is when we take our music abroad a lot more. Not just Australia but to the UK and the States. We will definitely be over there for the second half of the year, taking the band to new places.''
