Blue & Lonesome is the album they could never have made 50 years ago, even as reverential as they were of the blues back then. To play with this much feeling, you need a heap of road miles and more than a few wrinkles.
When Keef locks his languid shuffle into Charlie’s swingin’ back beat, there is a semblance of telepathy that just can’t be argued with. Interestingly, Mick’s riffing on the harp really steals the show here.
