Another Mahy marvel

Author Margaret Mahy does wonderful things with words in this story of a newly groomed dog who refuses to stay ''dapper and dandified'' despite his family's best efforts.

Donovan Bixley's illustrations are full of humour and drama as the dog drags them from one mess to another, until he finally redeems himself in glorious fashion, saving baby Betty who falls off the jetty.

The book comes with a CD narrated by Mahy and it's pretty special to hear her tell the tale. Ages: 2-4.
