Saturday, 3pm: Dr Paola Voci, senior lecturer, department of languages and culture, University of Otago will talk on ''il buon vivere'' (the good life) as it is embraced by the Movement of Cittaslow. This will be followed by a TED talk by Carl Honore in which he will share his thoughts on the Slowness Movement - food, children, work, technology, imagination, personal relationships and his inner tortoise.

Thursday, 12.15pm: lunchtime talk - A Creative Edge - David Newstead, of ADInstruments, will be discussing the significance of the PowerLab instrument on display in the creative edge case and the success of this Dunedin-based company. Free.
Sunday, 1pm-4pm: introduction to hand sewing - learn the basics of hand sewing with a couple of projects, starting with your own pincushion. No previous sewing experience required. Suitable for ages 8 and up (with a parent). $15, all materials supplied. Bookings required.
Tuesday, 10am: Tuesday Club - the Caversham industrial school. This month's speaker is Keith Scott, historian and author, who will be discussing the origins of the Caversham industrial school and the stories of those who were sent there. OSA members gold coin, non-members $5.
