BROWN SKIN GIRLS: VISUAL ART

Photographer Rosie Roache returns to the Fringe with portraits spotlighting "brown skin girls in the midst of white Dunedin". The portraits come to life as her muses dance and sing in their frames in this interactive photography exhibition. - Mar 14-24

MALU IN THE CITY: TAPU FITU/SACRED 7

This one-night-only R18 mixed-media exhibition event by visual artist Virginia Mau G is the artist’s visual depiction of the seven deadly sins and virtues. Here is where the artist becomes her muse for display and viewing pleasure. - Mar 16

THE GIRMIT

Nadia Freeman uses live sample techniques, recorded narrations of archived accounts, songs and poetry to tell her ancestors’ story — the history of indentured labour from India to Fiji. - Mar 23-24

TOE FANAUINA/REBIRTH: ART EXHIBITION

Toe Fanauina, meaning Rebirth in Samoan, is about Ana Teofilo’s journey into receiving her Samoan traditional tatau (tattoo) called the Malu. Malu means to be protected and sheltered. - Mar 14-23

BUTTERFLY FLUTTERS/JANUARY BURNS

Butterfly Flutters/January Burns braids theatrical storytelling and scientific theory, using elements of physical theatre, character-driven narrative and projections to introduce the principle of Chaos Theory — unpicking the humanity that underpins science. - Mar 19-21

CAPTAIN FESTUS MCBOYLE’S TRAVELLIN’ VARIETY SHOW

A fabulously fun family show, filled to the brim with well-crafted comedy songs and awe-inspiring tales of the sea. Regularly compared to Monty Python and Spike Milligan, this Vaudevillean troupe will whisk you away on a first-class voyage to sample their weird and wonderful world in all its glory. - Mar 23-24

HINE-PŪ-TE-HUE: A JOURNEY OF ENLIGHTENMENT

A new theatre work by Tania Sharee Williams (Ngā Puhi), of Te Waka Wairua o Aotearoa, and Jessica Sutherland-Latton (Kāi Tahu), of Ake Ake Theatre Company, explores a woman’s personal journey of love, grief and healing, embraced in the higher arc of Hine-pū-te-hue, Moth Goddess, who brings enlightenment and empowerment. - Mar 19-20

MANA WĀHINE: EXHIBITION AND WORKSHOP

Local artists Savannah Kerekere and Michael-Lydia Winiana present a workshop and exhibition exploring connection to whenua, Papatūānuku and ngā wāhine toa past and present. - Mar 17-18

THE PRE CONDITIONED HORI

Everything has a whakapapa, so conscious kaupapa hip-hop street poet Charles N Charge tells a unique story of an urban Māori negotiating the many discourses life, dealt him retrospectively. - Mar 19

GENDER MARXIST

Part revolution, part (pretty) good jokes, join Mx Well for an hour of musical comedy where they attempt to cope with the growing tensions of a late-stage capitalist world, while also being very hot and funny. - Mar 21-23

IN POUR TASTE: A COMEDY WINE TASTING EXPERIENCE

In an experience that could only be described as "boxed wine in quantity, Champagne in quality", comedians Sweeney Preston and Ethan Cavanagh are joined by a wine expert as they guide you through five wines and at least five jokes. - Mar 20-21

FEROCE CABARET

Cabaret featuring show girls, modern dance, local singers and acting talent. There’s a family Saturday matinee with sensory considerations, e.g., low volume and reduced lighting changes. - Mar 21-23

HENRY YAN: BORED GAME

RAW comedy competition winner Henry Yan is putting on a board game in which the audience competes against him. - Mar 14-16

JEZ & JACE: LADS ON TOUR

Improvised comedy from Ginge & Minge, in which toxic masculinity has never looked so hot. What does it really mean to love your bro? An exploration of growing up queer downunder. - Mar 22-23

LIV MCKENZIE: CRYBABY

Oversharing isn’t really in Liv’s vocabulary; it’s not over until it’s all told. From the bathroom gossip to group chats to nights out where that thing happened, it’s time to see it in all its gory glory. - Mar 14-15

NEW SHOW, WHO DIS?

Join Advait, The Awkward Indian Guy Act, for his "new show", and find out "Who Dis?". "Super dry with killer timing ..." - Mar 21-23

OUR JURISDICTION

Three bodies move through spaces of physical reality and psychological stipulations in this dance piece. The imagined and actual impositions of the mind, as time morphs into a kaleidoscope of interpretation. - Mar 17-18

SPACE HOLE

Musical comedian Troubadette, aka Rose Duxfield, combines her sugar-sweet vocals and razor-sharp lyrics to make memorable tunes you’ll wish weren’t stuck in your head at the staff meeting. - Mar 15-16

SPACE INVADERS

Comedian Nicola Brown is very chill, except when she’s not. Behold as she wrangles perplexing bodies, romance scammers (who’ve failed to notice how gay she is) and hapless medical systems into some sort of orderly chaos. - Mar 19-20

SOLILIQUEENS (+ KINGS) — DUNEDIN PRIDE

Dunedin Pride Month’s largest annual drag show is ready to once again blow minds. Featuring all local Ōtepoti acts and headlined by the fabulous Ann Arkii, you’re bound to have an excellent night full of music and sequins. - Mar 15

TOXIC SHOCK BIMBO

Rhiannon McCall showcases a whirlwind of stand-up and character sketches, delving into themes of feminism and fear, divulging true stories, including how she navigates a fear of flying, an endometriosis diagnosis, and that one time her dad took her to watch the David Bain trial. - Mar 14-15

WE, THE OUTSIDERS

An original documentary theatre piece created and inspired by real-life stories of migrant workers living in New Zealand, from trying to fit in to adapting to a whole new culture. - Mar 16-17
