Foodstuffs has confirmed 14 finance and administration staff at its Dunedin distribution centre have lost their jobs, with the last expected to be gone by the end of the month.
News of the redundancies was leaked in late August and later confirmed by Foodstuffs South Island general manager, finance, Malcolm Wratt.
Job losses around Dunedin in the past eight months have topped about 400, with 360 staff at Cadbury's chocolate factory to be gone by early 2018 and the balance going from Foodstuffs and two other companies.
Mr Wratt was contacted this week about the redundancies, and responded in an email that 14 positions were made redundant from its finance and administration team in Dunedin.
''Team members were consulted and supported throughout the process and offered a number of options,'' Mr Wratt said.
He said all the affected personnel had elected to leave. Some had already left and the rest would be gone by the end of the month.
Mr Wratt said in late August Foodstuffs had been implementing new systems and processes to drive efficiencies and savings in the co-operative.
It was understood by sources, but not confirmed by Foodstuffs, that the jobs would be moved to Christchurch, under six new positions.
Foodstuffs said all had received redundancy payments.
Some staff had been at the Andersons Bay distribution centre for decades.
