The freehold hotel, dating from 1933, is on a 5271sq m site.
It has seven bedrooms, a restaurant seating 40, a commercial kitchen and an outdoor dining area for 40 during summer months.
The hotel is located in the small namesake community, about 10km from Ranfurly, northwest of Dunedin and situated beside the Otago Central Rail Trail. Bayleys Canterbury agent Kate Mullins said during a busy summer evening there could be more than 100 diners from the rail trail trade and the hotel was also enjoyed by locals.
There were about 15,000 to 18,000 rail trail cyclists each year and the hotel maintained four staff year-round.
Ms Mullins said hotel, which has a registered valuation of $740,000, had accounts showing a revenue split of 34% from food sales, 42% liquor sales and 22% accommodation, the latter offering 12 to 14 beds.
The hotel had undergone ''considerable renovations and refurbishments'' during the past four years.
Its additional amenities now included a guest lounge, public bar, laundry and a large, sheltered outdoor barbecue.
The hotel operates with a grey-water septic system, lpg hot water and well water, using an electric pressure pump.
It has log burners, open fires and heat pumps for winter heating.
There is a separate 2-year-old three-bedroom owner's residence on the property.
