High-end real estate firm setting up Wanaka office

Central Otago real estate agent Craig Myles has joined global agency Colliers and is setting up a new office in Wanaka this week.

Mr Myles specialises as a broker of premium residential real estate and has won several industry awards since beginning his real estate career in Wanaka in 2014.

He joins Colliers as a director and senior sales consultant of the Wanaka branch.

Colliers already has a Wanaka valuation advisory and full service offices in Queenstown and Dunedin.

Colliers Otago director Mark Simpson said the Wanaka expansion was a natural progression and growth opportunity.

Colliers Otago real estate general manager Roger Ellis said Mr Myles would be a leader in the premium residential sales team and he was looking forward to welcoming him to the wider group.

Mr Myles’ office in Spencer Mall would be temporary until a bigger office is fitted out to house an expanded team in a few months time.

Colliers Valuation will retain its Ardmore St premises.

Mr Myles said he was looking forward to building relationships and deepening his community ties.

"The Wanaka region has always been well-served by existing local real estate agencies, however I see an increasing need for clients to have their property asset showcased throughout New Zealand and further afield," he said.

There was huge potential to access high net worth and private equity, both locally and offshore, further expanding benefits for clients, Mr Myles said.

Globally, Colliers earns annualised revenues of $3.6billion ($4billion including affiliates) and has $46billion of assets under management.

Colliers launched in New Zealand in 1989 and employs more than 600 staff in 23 locations.

Mr Myles was previously with Sothebys International Realty.
