Forsyth Barr branches out

Broking firm Forsyth Barr is opening two new branches in Whangarei and North Shore, taking its total branches to 17 and total number of investment advisers to more than 100.

Managing director Neil Paviour-Smith said the Dunedin-headquartered firm had opened six new branches in the past 12 months through growth and acquisition.

"The opening of these [latest] branches is a very exciting development for us, something we have aspired to for some time. The broader region north of Auckland is one of the fastest growing regions in New Zealand."

The new branches would employ six investment advisers, most of whom would be joining Forsyth Barr from other advisory firms.

Forsyth Barr had experienced an upsurge in business, he said, and was "providing clients with high-quality research, systems and investment advice and the full range of products and services".
