Fisher Windows Otago has been placed in voluntary liquidation by its owner, with seven staff let go in recent weeks and its premises in Kaikorai Valley locked.

Revolving Investments Ltd, which traded under the name of Fisher Windows Otago, was placed in voluntary liquidation by owner Eric Vaafusuaga on Tuesday, but liquidators do not yet know how much is owed.

Following a call to the Otago Daily Times by a creditor yesterday, Iain Nellies, of Insolvency Management Ltd in Dunedin, was contacted and he confirmed the company was in liquidation.

Mr Jenkins understood Mr Vaafusuaga was owed a total of more than $200,000 by two debtors for work completed, each owing "more than $100,000".

Before the liquidation had started, Mr Vaafusuaga had started legal proceedings against one of the debtors, he said.

Mr Nellies said that the financial circumstances of the debtors were unknown.

Information from banks, company accounts and Mr Vaafusuaga was still being collated and the financial position of Fisher Windows had not been determined, Mr Nellies said.

• Mr Vaafusuaga is well known in Southern rugby circles, having played more than 200 games for Taieri and Green Island, along with one appearance for Otago, in 1999.
