A top price of $10,000 was achieved at the Puketoi Angus stud's bull sale in the Maniototo last week.
Geoff and Noela Crutchley sold 23 out of 25 bulls for an average of $5380, with the top-priced bull sold to the Helmsdale Angus stud at Otama. It was a strong sale, PGG Wrightson Otago stud stock specialist Roger Keach said.
Taiaroa Charolais, at Paerau, sold 12 out of 17 bulls for an average of $4400, and Delmont Angus at Clinton sold 22 from 23 bulls for an average of $4760.
At the Owaka combined beef breeders' sale, Warren Burgess (Beresford Simmentals) sold 10 out of 11 bulls for an average of $6060, with a top price of $8200 sold to G.I. Burgess.
