Last May, the company was put into receivership and voluntary administration by Crown Irrigation Investments Ltd (CIIL).
It came after an adjudication process found the company was liable to pay Monadelphous about $12.8 million following a dispute over a $45 million project the engineering group was undertaking for the company.
The company had been undertaking major upgrades to its irrigation scheme, which involved laying 59km of piped irrigation infrastructure that would double its capacity.
In August 2019, the company was issued an abatement notice by the Waitaki District Council because a section of the new pipeline blocked the view of the Waitaki River west of Kurow, which breached its consent.
Work then had to be carried out to move the section underground.
Kurow-Duntroon Irrigation and Monadelphous were then involved in a dispute over who was liable for the increased costs caused by the consent breach.
CIIL’s annual report, for the year ended June 30, said the dispute was resolved subsequent to June 30 and, on September 9, the company ceased being in administration. On November 16, it ceased being in receivership.
In her report as chairwoman of CIIL, Linda Robertson said resolution was able to be achieved with mediation.
The claim was resolved in early August last year and the company could continue normal operations.
