The 10-year-old company has sold nearly 1000 craft and more than 950 have been exported to 40 countries.
Sealegs International, which trades as Future Mobility Solutions on the NZX, already has several craft operating for the Malaysian Government, both in the security and rescue first-response sectors.
Sealegs chief executive David McKee Wright said the order was worth more than $3 million. All 23 craft were due for delivery during the next 12 months.
''An order of this size will help our operating position over the next 12 months and set a precedent for other international government departments,'' he said in a statement.
While the amphibious craft's primary purpose is flood response during the monsoon season, the new Sealegs craft will join the existing fleet at 33 locations around the Malaysia's coastline, providing emergency rescue services, he said.
