And now diversity advocate Mary Haddock-Staniland has been appointed global senior vice-president of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) at EverCommerce, which owns Dunedin-founded tech success story Timely.
Ms Haddock-Staniland, who is based in Auckland, will be responsible for expanding DEIB programmes throughout the organisation.
She will split her time between her new role and her existing position as senior vice-president of culture and inclusion at Timely.
Ms Haddock-Staniland, who is transgender, has developed a high profile during her career — including by speaking out about her own personal experiences — and has become a strong voice championing change, by advocating for a more equitable, diverse and inclusive world for everyone.
In a statement, EverCommerce founder and chief executive Eric Remer said Ms Haddock-Staniland was "born for this type of work".
"She’s an icon in her own right, and a fierce advocate for creating a more equitable, diverse and inclusive world."
EverCommerce is a global service commerce platform, providing vertically tailored, integrated SaaS (software as a service) solutions to more than 600,000 service-based businesses.
Timely was sold to EverCommerce last year in a deal worth about $135million.
