I am sitting here for the second night in a row wondering for how many more nights I could eat this; my new favourite dinner.
I thought I would be in the lab all day every day this week working on my honours project, so I was going to need something I could have for both lunch and dinner, and be filling and nutritious at the same time. Frittata was my answer.
Guess what? I made another pastry-based dish. Surprise, surprise. I told you to prepare for the onslaught.
Remember how I was a bit of a risotto fiend earlier in the year? I fear now I am turning into a bit of a purveyor of pastry.
Hello! Sorry about my absence of post last week. I was stuck in Hawaii . . . most unfortunate, I know. I was "dragged'' there by my parents. We spent 10 days in 35degC sunshine and snorkelled with sea turtles.
I've been in a bit of a cooking rut lately. The gloomy Dunedin weather seems to have sucked all the inspiration out of me!
Greetings from balmy Auckland.
Ready for a rumble with some crumble?
Hi there, Greetings from exam season.
Earlier this year I got to be part of Goodman Fielder's "Kiwi Faves'' campaign when I showed the nation how I make my family's favourite bacon and egg pie.
As I write this, I can hear the hail gently tinkling against the roof. My heater (which I bought about four hours ago) is on full blast and my feet are tightly and snugly wrapped in tramping socks (not that I tramp). Today is the perfect day for a hot and spicy soup.
I've had to drag myself away from making risotto.
Last Saturday night after a few too many wines my cheerful alter ego offered to make dinner for a couple of male friends.
I had risotto cravings the other day. It was cold and stormy outside, perfect risotto consumption weather.
Recently I've been craving Velvet Burger fatties with aioli, probably because I live so close to VB you can smell the goodness from my flat. But alas! I'm far too poor for such delights.
Seriously Dunedin. One minute you are freezing my bum off and the next I'm stripping off the layers. Make up your mind already.
To be honest I don't know what to call this. It was supposed to be a red beef curry. That was until peanut butter found it's way into it.
Well I must say, after being back home in Auckland for a few days over the Easter break I have noticed a definite drop in temperature here.
Before you totally disregard this as too expensive for flat food, hear me out!
Happy Easter! I hope you all had a good long weekend. To be honest I actually almost totally forgot about posting this week - Uni breaks seem to make me lose track of the days!
