It comes after Mrs Baxendale met with Chief Ombudsman Peter Boshier on Friday to discuss his report which raised "serious concerns" about the city council's leadership and its commitment to openness and transparency.
"Due to her commitment to transparency and openness, Mrs Baxendale is reconsidering her decision regarding the release of information about her relocation fee of up to $30,000 and has committed to providing further information next week," a statement from the city council said.
It was revealed by The Press on Wednesday her office had refused to release details of how the money was spent, stating that in this case, public interest did not outweigh Mrs Baxendale's right to privacy.
The former Birmingham City Council chief executive replaced previous Christchurch City Council chief executive Karleen Edwards in October.
She was given a $495,000 salary alongside a $30,000 relocation fee.
Her office's decision to decline releasing details around her relocation fee came only weeks after Mr Boshier's report which alleged members of the executive leadership team were withholding negative information about the city council from elected members and the public.
