A hāngī was held at St Mary’s School last Wednesday in celebration of Matariki.

A kōwhai tree was planted to signify the occasion.

St Mary’s principal Mallory Hood welcomed a crowd of about 200 people to the gathering.

The Ensign reporter Ben Andrews was there with his camera to capture the action.
