Demand strong at lamb sales

Demand was strong for lambs at on-farm sales near Middlemarch.

PGG Wrightson auctioneer Mark Yeates, of North Otago, said all the 3000 lambs on offer sold at Summer Hills farm last week.

Back-to-back auctions were held at two sheep and beef properties of the same farm business.

At the Summer Hills property, Poll Dorset and Texel-cross lambs sold for between $68.50 and $100, Mr Yeates said

Terminal lambs at the Huntleigh property sold for between $62 and $106, he said.
