Both she and Western North Island director Scott Gower had thrown their hats in the ring again after retiring by rotation, as required by the organisation’s constitution.
A nomination was received for the Western North Island district from Andrew Stewart, so an election will be held as Scott Gower is also standing for re-election.
As there were no further nominations received for the Central South Island district Mrs Hyslop returned to her post.
Mrs Hyslop co-owns — with husband Jonty — The Levels, a 227ha property halfway between Timaru and Pleasant Point.
She has been a farmer-elected director on the board of B+LNZ since 2019, as well as being a farmer director for fertiliser co-operative Ravensdown and chairwoman of the stakeholder committee for New Zealand Agricultural Greenhouse Gas Research Centre.
B+LNZ says the board represents the interests of farmers, and farmer-elected directors provide grassroots perspectives in decision-making.
Successful candidates will also be appointed to the New Zealand Meat Board.
Information about the Western North Island director election information will go out in mid-February, with voting by mail or online to close on March 21.
The annual meeting will be held at Palmerston North in late March.
