Eighty-year-old moon walker Buzz Aldrin will headline an Auckland communications technology conference next Saturday, in a line-up that includes a comedian, rappers and pop bands.
Aldrin, who on July 20 1969 was the second person to set foot on the Moon when he followed Apollo 11 commander Neil Armstrong, will speak at the Telecommunications Inudstry Group's (TIG) Planet 2010 conference at the Sky City Convention Centre.
Comedian Dai Henwood will be MC on Saturday which is the second and public day of the conference showcasing telecommunications developments and will include performances by Midnight Youth, The Checks, J Williams, Scribe and Savage.
Friday will cater to a business audience.
"This is an exciting opportunity to find out what is happening in our industry. People will be able to see and hear about the hottest new products from leading telecommunications companies," TIG chief executive Rob Spray said.
