Rebecca Sinclair (18), Snowboarder
Lives: Wanaka (born Takapuna, Auckland).
Event: Snowboard halfpipe.
Background: Sinclair is the youngest athlete in this year's team.
She first competed for New Zealand in 2006 and won the under-15 halfpipe at the World Youth Games in Italy that year.
She placed 14th at the 2009 World Cup in Italy and was 29th at the Winter Games World Cup at Cardrona.
Chances: Sinclair has improved since the Winter Games.
She has been competing consistently on the World Cup, Europa Cup and Nor-Am Cup circuits this season, with a string of top-20 results in recent outings.
She drew international attention when she placed seventh on the Winter Dew Tour in Breckenridge, Colorado, in 2008.
That resulted in an invitation to the Winter X Games, but she turned it down in favour of attending the world championships in Korea last year, where she was 28th.
Sinclair should compete strongly at the Olympics.
Race day: February 18, at Whistler.
