A five-day High Court appeal hearing for Meridian Energy's proposed $2 billion Project Hayes wind farm is scheduled to start in Dunedin on June 21.
Parties involved in Meridian's appeal to the High Court of an Environment Court decision declining consents for the wind farm participated in a teleconference yesterday.
Justices Chisholm and Fogarty will preside over the hearing.
Meridian spokesman Alan Seay said the company was pleased a date had been set.
Meridian's proposed 176-turbine wind farm on the Lammermoor Range in Central Otago was declined consents by the Environment Court in a 350-page decision released on November 6 last year.
The company lodged a 21-page notice of appeal with the High Court at Dunedin on November 27, hours before the deadline.
Only points of law can be addressed in the appeal.
Persistent wind-farm proposal opponents were disappointed but not surprised Meridian sought to have the Environment Court decision overturned.
They will be involved in the High Court hearing.
