Top New Zealand performers Tim Finn, Bic Runga and Dave Dobbyn will share the stage and four acclaimed backing musicians for the first time in a decade.
Co-promoter Campbell Smith told the Queenstown Times yesterday a crew of 70 people was bringing 18 shows to 16 venues around the country.
They hit the road today.
The tour is in its fourth year and the first show commences at Ascension Wine Estate, in Matakana, North of Auckland, tonight.
Millbrook is the eighth show and was added to the run in 2009.
The band features guitarist-backing vocalist Brett Adams, who played for the Mockers and Julie Dolphin and formed The Bads.
Adams has also recently played for Jan Hellriegel, Gin Wigmore and Jordan Luck.
Keyboardist-backing vocallist L.A. Mitchell opened for Stevie Wonder at his New Zealand shows and supported Dobbyn on his European tour.
She toured nationally as part of Fly My Pretties 3, manages to find time to be a member of rock band Dukes and collaborates with Sunshine Sound System and Oakley Grenell.
She was named first songwriter in residence for Auckland University last year.
Drummer-percussionist Michael Barker has recorded and toured with the John Butler Trio, Neil and Tim Finn respectively, Split Enz, the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Kasey Chambers, Missy Higgins, Alex Lloyd, David Bridie and My Friend The Chocolate Cake, among many others.
Bassist-backing vocallist Rio Hunuki-Hemopo was a founding member of Trinity Roots and has performed and recorded with Fat Freddy's Drop, Hollie Smith, Scribe, Breaks Co-Op, Recloose and Jonathan Crayford, among others.
• The 2010 More FM Winery Tour, Millbrook, Monday, February 15. Gates open 5pm, Boh Runga featuring Che Fu at 6.15pm, Finn-Runga-Dobbyn on stage together at 8pm, show concludes about 10pm.
Tickets cost $75 plus booking fee and can be purchased from Ticketmaster, or Ticket Direct. Tickets are $85 at the gate. A pre-purchased return Snag Bus ride costs $30 return.
Bus will leave from outside The Pig and Whistle, in Queenstown, at 4.20pm, then picks up at Goldfields bus stop, on Frankton Rd, at 4.30pm, Frankton bus stop at 4.35pm and Lake Hayes Estate entrance at 4.45pm. The bus will leave at 10.15pm.
