Else Mackenzie
Mrs Mackenzie, who is the Opera House Encore co-ordinator, has been appointed curator at the Forrester Gallery.
In 2005, the Waitaki District Council decided someone was needed to co-ordinate the fund-raising for the $9.7 million Opera House redevelopment and restoration project.
Mrs Mackenzie was initially seconded for six months because, at that stage, the council had not finalised the project.
Her contract was later extended, and ends this month.
She will start at the Forrester Gallery on June 16, and said she was looking forward to a "magic job".
Being involved with the Opera House project had been "absolutely awesome", she said.
