The Spain midfielder aggravated an existing injury during a 27-minute cameo on Sunday against Aston Villa. He came off the bench to score twice in a 3-0 victory.
Manager Arsene Wenger said ahead of Wednesday's English Premier League match against Portsmouth that "it looks like he will be out for 10 days."
Fabregas will also miss Saturday's FA Cup match at West Ham and the home league fixture against Bolton on the following Wednesday.
He could return for the January . match against Everton.
