Yellow Pages makes $338m loss

Yellow Pages Group reported a full year net loss of $338 million, with chief executive Bruce Cotterill saying the company had been hit by one-off costs.

In 2007 investors, including the Ontario Teachers Pension Plan, bought Yellow Pages from Telecom for $2.2 billion.

Mr Cotterill told NBR one-off costs during the year to the end of June included a $195m goodwill impairment made necessary by the global financial crisis. The group also had to pay $191m in interest.

Putting one-off items aside, and adding full year results from the Finda division, bought from APN in February, "proforma" ebitda profit was $166m, up 0.6 percent from the previous year, Mr Cotterill said.

Reported revenue edged up $4m to $297m.
