A body found at the scene of a Bay of Plenty hedge fire early today has prompted a police investigation.
Inspector William Taylor said emergency services were called to a hedge fire in Hamurana Rd, Ngongotaha, 8km northwest of Rotorua, at 3.10am.
The body was found near the fire.
Rotorua police were investigating the incident.
