A Hamilton primary school where a victim of the Samoa tsunami taught will be greeted by an Education Ministry trauma team when it opens next week.
Rebecca Martin, 24, and her 22-year-old sister Petria, from Matamata, were among the eight New Zealanders, including two children, confirmed dead in last week's devastating earthquake and tsunami in the Pacific.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said nearly all New Zealanders thought to be in Samoa at the time of the tsunami had now been accounted for.
Rebecca Martin worked at Hamilton's Rototuna Primary, which will be visited by an Education Ministry counselling team when it opens for term four on Monday.
"This will ensure that staff and students receive the support that is required," the school said in a statement today.
A number of teachers and children from the school were expected to attend the sisters' funeral in Matamata this weekend.
Meanwhile, fundraiser screenings of New Zealand film Sione's Wedding will be held in Auckland on Saturday, with attendances from some of its Samoan stars and other well-known actors.
All proceeds from ticket sales and donations at the event will go to the New Zealand Red Cross for the Samoa Earthquake and Tsunami Appeal.
It's one of a few fundraising appeals to take place in coming days involving celebrities and well-known New Zealand artists.
