"Keep going with what you're doing" was the encouraging response from the latest community forum on the Remarkables Primary School last week, the principal says.
Principal Debbie Dickson, deputy principal Sarah Graham and members of the establishment board of trustees welcomed about 70 Wakatipu parents, caregivers and future pupils to the forum at the Queenstown Events Centre on Thursday.
Mrs Dickson said participants appreciated sharing information about the Frankton school's development.
The enrolment zone and staged opening timetable were clarified.
School Support transport manager Graeme Bond, Queenstown Lakes District Council transportation manager Denis Mander, New Zealand Transport Agency Central Otago area manager John Jarvis, Naylor Love regional manager Justin Calder and 4MyEarth representative Marcia McWhirter were on hand to answer questions.
Mrs Dickson said the board would be confirming the school colours of red, apple green and navy blue at next month's meeting.
"We've got parents who have indicated they want to join the community services committee, so we'll be in contact with those people," she said.
Sun hats and a sports uniform would be the only compulsory clothing for pupils.
The board was considering optional school logoed jackets and polo shirts for summer and merino wool tops for winter.
The next community forum would take the form of parent and pupil evenings in term four.
