Queenstown Lakes District Council chief executive Duncan Field was tight-lipped last night about a meeting between him, Mayor Clive Geddes and Queenstown business people regarding Destination Queenstown yesterday.

Weekly newspaper Mountain Scene reported that a "deputation of big-league businessfolk" was due to meet Mr Geddes and Mr Field.

When contacted by the Otago Daily Times, Mr Field described the meeting as "full and frank" and part of an ongoing discussion about the resort's promotion group.

The meeting was unrelated to the announcement this week that DQ chief executive Stephen Pahl would step down from the job on September 25.

Mr Field said there were no outcomes from the meeting, and he declined to say who had been present from the business community.
