Maori health will get a $20 million injection over the next four years.
Associate Health Minister Tariana Turia announced the Maori health innovation fund today and said it would help Maori providers grow their services.
Of the $20m, $5m will be available under the Te Ao Auahatanga Hauora Maori (Maori Health Innovation Fund) for Maori Health providers wanting to develop and implement a new service or spread innovative information.
"In essence, the fund acknowledges the spirit of innovation among Maori in health and I look forward to seeing it help turn the tide on the health of our people."
