A 48-year-old Oamaru man has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon after an alleged "road rage" incident involving a machete
Senior Constable Bruce Dow said a car pulled up alongside the female complainant's vehicle on Witham St about 9.30pm on Friday and an argument followed.
The man allegedly got out of his car carrying a machete and the woman drove off.
Police found him later in Thames St, with a machete under a seat in his vehicle.
