The $9 million postal referendum on smacking may have become unstuck, with people reporting difficulties in sealing the supplied envelopes.
Voting in the Citizens Initiated Referendum opened yesterday, with people asked to send their voting paper in the supplied envelope before August 21.
Several Otago Daily Times readers reported difficulties sealing the envelope.
An Elections New Zealand spokeswoman said the envelopes had been tested, and no complaints had been received.
If people were having difficulties they could seal them with sticking tape, she said.
