In a fundraiser for the Cancer Society, the company provided seven volunteers and "several thousand" bulbs, which were planted at Les Cleveland's property, Cleveland Charitable Gardens.
He provided compost, an area to plant the bulbs, and some assistance.
The flowers would be picked and sold by employees at the end of September, to raise money for children with cancer.
Cleveland Charitable Foundation chairman Les Cleveland commended their efforts.
Volunteer Carolyn Tucker took part in the project because she had two sisters who had died of cancer in the past two months.
"It's really scary. This means something to me."
A million daffodils for "several dozen" organisations' fundraisers are growing on Mr Cleveland's property.
"The idea is to beautify the town and help societies that really need money. We want the people of Otago to take pride in their area."
Next year, Mr Cleveland wants to plant tulips around the city centre.
He encouraged charitable organisations to approach him for future projects.
