Apart from playing music, he has also been in the road crew for several of the world's largest rock acts.
Gideon describes himself as a fan of music in all its forms.
"I'm a music fanatic and I never tire of playing and touring. . . I have a growing repertoire of songs and some recordings to promote as well."
During stints as a roadie, he has managed to get some good advice from a couple of household names, including Graeme Nash of Crosby, Stills and Nash fame.
"He was a really cool guy. But the best advice came from Deep Purple's keyboardist, when we supported them in '04 at the Christchurch Town Hall.
"He was another really approachable guy - intelligent and aware, you might say. His advice to me was that a musician can never practice enough. And that is quite true, especially since we never stop learning."
Gideon said his show would be "me playing acoustic guitar and singing a mix of covers and originals".
