The Crunchie Comedy Convoy rolls into Queenstown for the first time, with five top international comedians delivering the laughs at the Memorial Hall tomorrow.

Ben Hurley, last year's winner of The Fred award for best veteran Kiwi comedian, and former Billy T winner Paul Ego form the New Zealand contingent of this travelling comedy carnival.

Wilson Dixon, a faux-country singer from the United States, Australian working mother and Melbourne Comedy Festival headliner Fiona O'Loughlin, and political Canadian Glenn Wool round out the line-up.

While loitering somewhere in New Plymouth, Ben Hurley told the Queenstown Times about a few of his favourite things ...

QT: What did you have for lunch today?

BH: A beef panini from a service station cafe. Being on the road means you can't eat so well all the time. This was pretty good though, it was pretty close to actual meat.

QT: What is your favourite spot in Queenstown?

BH: Revolver. Great gigs, great staff, had some awesome nights there.

QT: Queenstown needs more ...

BH: Fishing.

QT: Queenstown needs less ...

BH: People giving me flyers.

QT: What was the latest CD you bought?

BH: The new Green Day album. It's OK.

QT: And the latest DVD?

BH: I haven't bought one for ages but someone bought me all the Nirvana videos on DVD recently, which is cool. I love '90s rock.

QT: What is your favourite way to relax?

BH: Cooking on the barbecue with a beer and the cricket on.

QT: What winds you up?

BH: People who, when you ask them a question about something and they don't know the answer to, they say you should Google it!

I'm like, "Oh really? Will it be on the internet? No kidding?" Everything is on the internet. That's not advice.

I only asked because I don't have the internet on me all the time.

QT: What cracks you up?

BH: When someone tries to open a door of a pub or a bar or something and it's not open and they know everyone is looking at them, so they try to stay cool and act like it doesn't bother them but you can tell it really does.

QT: What are you reading?

BH: I'm re-reading The Scarecrow, by Ronald Hugh Morrieson. I read it every five years or so. It's my favourite book.

QT: Do you have a favourite quote you live by?

BH: "I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all." Jon Bon Jovi.

QT: If you could do anything, what would it be?

BH: I can't answer this question, my wife might read this.
