Kiwi Ingenuity and Anvils Best Ever won work-outs at Rangiora on Saturday in preparation for the Harness Jewels next Saturday.

Kiwi Ingenuity ran 2000m (mobile) in 2.35.5, the last 800m in 58.5.

Anvils Best Ever recorded 2.39.5 and 59.2.

Kiwi Ingenuity won by three and a-half lengths from Rocket Star.

Anvils Best Ever won by a length from race rival Best Chance.

"She [Kiwi Ingenuity] went nice. The track was pretty wet and she found the line well," Robbie Holmes, her trainer-driver, said.

Her stablemate, Ibiza, was scratched at Addington on Friday night due to the rain-affected track.

Deal On The Day has been scratched from the 2yr-old filly pacer section of the Harness Jewels, allowing Kusadasi to enter the field.

Kusadasi is trained by Mark Purdon and Grant Payne, who also have Casarina, Lancome and Millwood Meg in the field.

The stable has 17 horses in the HJ.

The Kirk Larsen-trained Deal On The Day is under treatment at an Invercargill veterinary facility.

Larsen won with Mossdale Scoty at Winton yesterday, taking his tally for the season to 28 wins, the equal of his best achieved last season.

He has a team for winter racing.

• Stylish Monarch will wind up his season at Ashburton next Monday.

The Murray Tapper-trained 5yr-old posted his fourth win in eight starts at Addington on Friday night.

"He will go out after Ashburton for about a month and then get ready for the New Zealand Cup meeting," Tapper said.

Samantha Ottley, who drove Stylish Monarch last Friday, has retained the drive at Ashburton.

• Rosewood Mac had his first win for two years when successful at Winton yesterday.

Rosewood Mac was having his 14th start since joining the Balfour stable of Shane Matheson this season.

Rosewood Mac won six races when trained by Craig Laurenson.

His previous was at Winton in May, 2007.
