Zero waste certificate an NZ first

Karen Noble, of Alexandra, will next month become the first New Zealander to receive the national certificate in zero waste.

Mrs Noble, who manages Central Otago WasteBusters, will be presented with the National Certificate in Zero Waste and Resource Recovery (Principles for Implementation Level 3), in Alexandra on May 11.

Mrs Noble completed the qualification late last year when invited to a conference being run by the industry training organisation, Exito.

The three-day conference at Kaiapoi was a chance for resource recovery leaders from throughout New Zealand to critique and complete the certificate, which has been available within the industry since 2006.
